McIntosh vs Gutknecht on Sylvester-Geale Card, More

EBU light heavyweight champ Danny McIntosh makes a voluntary defense of the title May 7 in Neubrandenburg against German Eduard Gutknecht. It´s a supporting fight to Sebastian Sylvester vs. Daniel Geale. Gutknecht was previously with Universum but recently joined Sauerland and is moved fast. The fight is not confirmed by Sauerland but the EBU have it up on their site.
 
OPI 2000 will stage a big show in Cagliari April 15. On top EU welterweight king Luciano Abis take on Mark Lloyd. On the undercard former EBU flyweight champ Andrea Sarritzu takes on Sergey Tasimov and super middleweight Mohamed Ali Ndiaye faces Ruslan Pojonishevs.
 
Finnish cruiserweight Juho Happoja is currently in Gorizia, Italy, and spars with former EBU heavyweight champ Paolo Vidoz. With Juho is British trainer CJ Hussein. Haapoja headlines P 3 Boxing´s show in Seinajoki May 22.
 
Italian veteran Giuseppe Lauri, now living in Budapest, take on Russian Denis Shafikov May 20 in Varese with the vacant EBU title at stake and EU jr welterweight ruler Ville Piispanen again travels to Italy and defend the title on June 3 in Pomezia against Vittorio Oi. Piispanen won the title there last year. Both events are promoted by OPI 2000.
 
Michel Recloux beat Mike Algoet Saturday night in Loncin in a fight for the Belgian middleweight title. Both men, but especially Algoet, are frequently on the road in Europe taking on all comers.
