LAS VEGAS - Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Tenshin Nasukawa formally announced their New Year's Eve exhibition match on Thursday at the Mayweather Boxing Club. The bout is scheduled for a total of 3 rounds that will be 3 minutes each like a traditional boxing match. The fight will take place on a Rizin Fighting Federation card in Japan.

Mayweather held a question and answer session with the media and one of the questions asked was for Floyd's thoughts on Amir Khan's recent criticism of the event.

Khan told the Daily Mail that the event is a "joke" and that it harms the sport of boxing.

The retired Mayweather took Khan's comments in stride and said that his detractors should try to improve their own situations instead of worrying about what he is doing.

"I mean everybody got something to say about Floyd Mayweather. A lot of people want to speak on Floyd Mayweather. Do what Floyd Mayweather did. Accomplish what Floyd Mayweather did. Make record breaking things like Floyd Mayweather and then you can say what you want to say. At the end of the day nobody has done what I have do in the sport of boxing," Mayweather explained.

He took it a step further and compared each of their fights against their common opponent Canelo Alvarez. Mayweather soundly defeated the Mexican superstar in 2013 while Khan suffered a brutal 6th round knockout loss to Canelo in 2016.

"Amir Khan he faced Canelo. When he faced Canelo we seen him comatose. I was an old man when I faced Canelo and we all know that was easy work. Some of the easiest work I ever had," said Mayweather.
