According to the information gained by BoxingScene.com/Bokser.org, the date of the clash between Tomasz Adamek (42-1, 27 KO) and Vinny Maddalone (33-6, 24 KO) is likely heading to December 9. The date will be non-standard – it will take place on Thursday. Originally, it was planned that Adamek will face Maddalone in Atlantic City but it turned out that promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank had already reserved the date. Thus, the bout’s place will be Prudential Center in Newark.
Besides Adamek, boxing fans in Newark will have a chance to see two other Polish fighters in action. The first is undefeated 23-year-old prospect Mateusz Masternak (20-0, 15 KO), who is said to be Adamek's successor in the cruiserweight division (Adamek, currently at heavyweight, was the IBF cruiserweight champion of the world from 2008-2009). The third Pole will be a 30-year-old middleweight Przemysław Majewski (13-0, 8 KO). The names of Masternak’s and Majewski’s opponents have currently not been announced.
