Marquez: I Won't Let Them Rob Me, I'm Going For a KO!

By Miguel Rivera

Juan Manuel Marquez (53-5-1, 39KOs) has promised to secure a knockout victory on November 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he faces WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (53-3, 38KOs) for a third time. Marquez believes he was robbed of a victory in their two prior meetings, in 2004 and 2008, when he went to a draw and lost a twelve round split decision in the rematch.

"I will win by knockout to leave no doubt. I've had the best preparation of my career. I want to avoid a robbery, and I need to get a clear win, so I'm going to knock him out," The judges in Las Vegas, they don't want me to win, so I'm coming with everything. They say I'm a 9-1 underdog, but that motivates me even more," Marquez said.

[B]Since when does backpedaling the whole fight equals going for a KO? Marquez was actually afraid to stand in Pacquiao's comfort zone for more than a split second, because he knew he'd get knocked out. Pacquiao played an excellent role…
