Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez has selected WBO/WBA flyweight champion Juan Francisco "Gallo" Estrada (33-2, 24KOs) as the best fighter in Mexico.

Estrada has been dominating the competition and hopes to get a rematch with his division rival, WBC champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, in 2016. Estrada lost a twelve round decision to Gonzalez in 2012. Gonzalez says Estrada was the toughest opponent of his career.

Marquez will not give the top spot in Mexico to superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. He is impressed with Canelo's recent win over Miguel Cotto, but in order to stamp his name as the best - Marquez says Canelo must face and beat his mandatory challenger, Gennady "GGG" Golovkin.

"I think right now Estrada is the best there is in Mexcan boxing. He needs to do a contest with Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, but he is the best that we have. For Canelo, he only needs to beat a name like Golovkin and without question he would occupy the position as the nation's best," Marquez stated.

"His victory against Cotto is important to advance his credibility. Now we have to see where he goes from here and how he does with stronger opponents like Golovkin. Hopefully the WBC pushes this fight forward."
