Bild writes that Sauerland Event have signed up 31-year old heavyweight Michael Wallisch , who was previously with SES and before that with EC. Wallisch will be trained by the legendary Ulli Wegner in Berlin. When he makes his debut for Sauerland is not known.
The 31-year old Wallisch is undefeated in 16 fights and previously won the WBO Euro title but have had a somewhat troubled career since turning pro in 2011 with layoffs due to injuries, contractual disputes and a prison term.
More news from Bild: The IBF have ordered an all German eliminator at cruiserweight between Noel Gevor (22-0 and IBF # 3) and reigning IBO title holder Marco Huck (40-3-1 and IBF # 4). Gevor is with Sauerland Event while Huck is own man after spending most of his career with Sauerland.
Huck is currently sidelined with a hand injury though and when he is ready to fight again is not known yet.
43-year old German heavyweight Marcel "the Highlander" Zeller has passed away in what appears to be related to misuse of drugs. Zeller (24-16) always entered the ring in a Scottish kilt and scored a lot of early knockouts in the beginning of his career but when the opponents was the likes of Tyson Fury, Jonathon Banks or Erkan Teper it was the other way around. Zeller´s last six fights all ended inside the distance - five of them in the first round with Zeller on the floor.
Spanish featherweight Andoni Gago (15-2-2) take on Frenchman Sofiane Takoucht (30-3-1) December 17 in Bilbao with the IBF International title at stake. Gago challenged for the IBF I/C title earlier this year but lost to Alex Miskirtchian.
As for Takoucht he held the EBU title 2010-11 and is now back after almost 18 months out due to operating a bar and the passing of his father.
