Marcelino Lopez Inks Pact With Golden Boy Promotions

LOS ANGELES - Former WBC Latino Lightweight Champion, Marcelino "Nino" Lopez has signed a promotional contract with Golden Boy Promotions.  The 28-year-old from Arribenos, Buenos Aires, Argentina has already has a strong career as a professional boxer in South American, winning and defending several titles and maintaining a near perfect record of 31-1-1 (15 KOs).

"Golden Boy Promotions continues to strengthen its roster of fighters and adding Marcelino Lopez to the team confirms the great plans we have to find the best talent to put on the best fights for the fans," said Oscar De La Hoya, President and Founder of Golden Boy Promotions.

 "I am glad to be working with Golden Boy Promotions, I feel that this is a great opportunity for me to be introduced to a larger boxing audience," said Lopez. "I am excited to see what 2015 will bring being part of a world recognized promotional company."

The current South American Super Lightweight title holder is looking to expand his fan base and his record.  Fighting almost exclusively in Argentina, the hard-hitting puncher would like to fight in a world title match all while conquering the love of North American fans.
