Paulie Malignaggi (32-5, 7KOs) has denied Zab Judah's claim that the two of them sparred with each other in the past. Judah (42-8, 29KOs) claims Malignaggi has been hit with a sudden case of amnesia regarding the details of what happened during their past sparring. The two Brooklyn fighters will collide in a Showtime televised main event on December 7th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The bout is a very important crossroads match in the welterweight division. The loser would possibly see his career hit the end of the road.
"I don't remember us sparring. I'll tell you the truth, we never even trained at the same time," Malignaggi told BoxingScene.com. "I would train and spar early in the day and he would come to the gym at night. There are things I forget, but I would know if I was in the ring with someone of the caliber of Judah. Judah is a known entity, so I would know if I sparred him. Every known entity that I sparred, I remember them. Sometimes guys come up to me and say 'oh I sparred you' and I don't remember them because they are not a known entity, but I would remember sparring Zab because he is a known entity."
