WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (35-3, 31KOs) says his biggest motivation when he steps inside the ring on May 3rd, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, is the WBC title and Floyd Mayweather's undefeated 45-0 record.

Maidana earned the high profile opportunity when he defeated the heavily favored, and undefeated, Adrien Broner last December at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Maidana is currently training in Oxnard, California with his veteran trainer, former champion Robert Garcia.

"A lot of people think I'm going to the United States for the purse money. But I am going for the title and glory. I know I am going to win. I have all the desire to defeat Mayweather to make boxing history. I watched a lot of Mayweather fights looking for his mistakes, although he rarely makes them. He is smart and dirty. I will have to be as well," Maidana said.
