Luis Coria will square off against Thomas Valdez in an eight round bout tonight at the Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Arizona.

Coria, a featherweight prospect, won a one-sided decision over veteran Guadalupe Arroyo on July 28 in Los Angeles. The Moreno Valley, California resident has won his last five fights in a row.

The 20-year-old Coria (9-1, 4 knockouts) has benefitted from having trainer Robert Garcia in his corner and sparring the likes of Abner Mares in nearby Riverside.

On paper, Valdez will be the toughest test on paper for Coria.

Valdez (17-3-2, 7 KOs) is originally from Nogales, Sonora, Mexico and now resides in Tucson. The 29-year-old Valdez is unbeaten in his last 10 bouts since losing to Victor Castro five years ago.

Another fighter from Tucson will also fight on the Raging Babe/ Peltz Boxing Promotions card. Junior welterweight Alfonso Olvera will face Virgil Green (11-5, 4 KOs) in a six round bout.

Olvera (10-5-1, 4 KOs) last fought on July 21, losing an eight round split decision to Wilberth Lopez.

Junior middleweight Sebastian Fundora (10-0, 6 KOs), who stands 6'6", will square off against Jeremiah Wiggins (10-6-1, 4 KOs) in a six round bout. Wiggins has lost his last six bouts.

Seven more fights will round out the card.
