So will there be a rematch between current WBO super featherweight titlist, Vasyl Lomachenko, and the man that defeated him in controversial fashion in his second pro bout in March of 2014, Orlando Salido?
Salido returned to the ring this past weekend in Mexico and scored a seventh round stoppage of Aristides Perez.
"That's what I believe (the Salido fight will happen) and that's what I believe our promoter (Top Rank) is working on,"said Egis Klimas, who manages Lomachenko."Before the summer is over we're going to be back in the ring."
The question is can they come to a financial agreement with Salido who's team has made it very clear that they will not come cheap.
"That's up to the promoter, I'm not talking to them about the money," said Klimas. "I'm going to make sure to cover Lomachenko's side and the rest of it - that's up to the promoter."
So is this the fight that Lomachenko yearns for, an opportunity to even the score with the battle-tested Mexican?
Klimas states - ''This is the fight everybody wants, this is the fight the fans want. This is the fight we need to shut up most of the reporters talking about that non-sense. Every time he steps in the ring somebody brings up Salido's name. So I think it would be a very helpful rematch for Lomachenko's future and career."
Lomachenko last fought on April 8th where he riddled Jason Sosa over nine one-sided rounds in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
-- Another Klimas client, light heavyweight Oleksandr Gvozdyk, took care of Yuniesky Gonzalez in three rounds that night at the MGM National Harbor. Currently he is the NABF and NABO 175-pound champion and will soon be in line for a title fight.
So what's next for 'the Nail'?
"Everything is in the works, I was told he might be going even before Lomachenko gets into the ring Some time by the end of July, mid-July," explained Klimas
."If not, we're going to go in August but before the summer is over. I was told by our promoter(Top Rank) we're going to go into the ring."
