Loeffler's Hollywood Fight Night Series Returns on May 22

By Steve Kim

On March 27th, 360 Promotions staged their first edition of 'Hollywood Fight Night' series at the Avalon Hollywood.

The second installment of this series will take place on Tuesday May 22nd at the same venue.

Ryan 'Blue Chip' Martin headlined back in March and made his junior welterweight debut by halting Luis Eduardo Florez in four rounds.

Some familiar names will be on this upcoming card next month.

"Denis Shafikov, who's fought for the world title a couple of times, always a fan favorite, comes forward, Abel Sanchez trained. So you know he's going to be exciting in the ring. Brian Ceballo will come back out. Serhii Bohachuk will be out there," said Tom Loeffler, who formed '360 Promotions' recently said on 'the 3 Knockdown Rule' podcast with Mario Lopez on Tuesday.

Ceballo, a highly touted amateur made his pro debut on this card and scored a first round TKO of Luis Longoria, while Bohachuk came off the canvas to stop Lucious Johnson in an entertaining three round affair.

Shafikov has had a career of ups and downs.

He challenged for the world title on three occasions and came up short in competitive fights.

The first title shot came for him in 2014 against Miguel Vazquez. After losing a decision in that bout, he rallied off with three wins. He lost a twelve round decision to Rances Barthelemy back on December 2015, but then came back with strong back to back wins over Jamel Herring and Ricard Commey.

Those wins earned him a shot at IBF lightweight champion Robert Easter, who won a twelve round unanimous decision.

Shafikov lost fought in December, when he lost a close and some felt controversial ten round split decision to Rene Alvarado at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
