Liam Williams has had to endure the taunts from Liam Smith in the run up to their rematch and he is looking forward to November 11th where he can make the Liverpudlian pay.
Speaking to BoxNation, the Welshman made his dislike for his opponent obvious: “I knew he was going to come with [taunts], trying to wind me up which obviously isn’t working. I just don’t like the man. He’s real disrespectful, I’m going to really try and beat him up this time.”
The former World Champion has constantly called Williams out for ‘spewing it’, when asked about the comments Williams added: “Yeah [being called a quitter] doesn’t hurt me, it just annoys me.
“Obviously I know [I didn’t quit]. He’s got to do what he’s got to do to get under my skin. You all seen it I had a very bad cut, blood was running straight into my eye I couldn’t see…me fighting with one eye was only going to end one way.”
When it comes to the rematch the 25-year-old believes he can end the lingering doubts. “I going to come a better fighter, but so is Smith. There were a lot of situations I could’ve controlled better.
“At the end of the day you gain experience each time. There’s things I can change and I’ll prove it on the night and I’ll come away with the win. He can’t do nothing else, he fights one way.
