Golden Boy Promotions submitted the winning bid for the mandatory fight between IBF junior welterweight champion Lamont Peterson and mandatory contender Dierry Jean. There were only two bidders. Golden Boy, who promote Peterson, won with a bid of $156,000. The other bidder, Eye of the Tiger, placed down $ 111,121. Golden Boy has 90 days to put the fight on.

Peterson (31-2-1, 16KOs) was last seen in the ring in the month of May, when he suffered a crushing third round stoppage at the hands of Lucas Matthysse in their non-title encounter. Jean (25-0, 17KOs), also last seen in May, knocked out  Cleotis Pendarvis in the seventh round of their IBF final junior welterweight eliminator. Jean has a co-promotional deal with Golden Boy and Eye of The Tiger.
