Former champion Kostya Tszyu informed RIA Novosti on Thursday that an exhibition bout between him and popular actor/martial artist, Jackie Chan, would not happen at the Beijing Olympics.
This past April, exhibition fight organizer Tatyana Trubnikova worked to put the fight together and said Chan was very interested in holding an exhibition bout, but required approval from the Chinese Olympic Committee since he was China's official face for the 2008 Summer Games. Chan will also sing the Chinese national anthem at the opening ceremony on August 8.
"There will be no fight with Jackie Chan," said Tszyu. "At first Chinese authorities gave their permission, but then after considering all the details, decided that the Olympic ambassador should not be punched in the face."
