According to a report in Golzka, WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko is arriving this weekend in Saint Petersburg in the northern capital of Russia. The purpose of the visit is unknown but there are unconfirmed rumors circulating that Vitali might be arriving in Russia to hold a face to face meeting with Nikolai Valuev as a final attempt to reach an agreement for a possible fight in the fall. An offer of $1.5 million dollars has been made to Valuev.
Meanwhile in Germany, representatives of the Klitschko brothers are negotiating to reserve the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt. Due to a possible conflict with soccer, the brothers want to reserve the stadium for two dates - September 11 and 18. It is expected that one of these dates will be headlined by Wladimir Klitschko making his mandatory defense against Alexander Povetkin, or Vitali Klitschko making a defense against Nikolai Valuev.
