Khan To Mayweather: Be a Man, Reveal The Opponent!

By Declan Taylor, courtesy of The Daily Star

AMIR KHAN has told Floyd Mayweather to cut out the mind games.

Mayweather is still yet to reveal his opponent for September 12 when he is scheduled to fight for the final time in his career.

Khan is desperate to be named as the opponent but is still no closer to getting the nod.

And with just eight weeks until the date, the Brit star has accused the undefeated pound-for-pound king of being unprofessional.

Khan blasted: “I don’t know why he’s playing these little games, I think it’s just unprofessional really from a person like Floyd Mayweather who is renowned as one of the best fighters ever.

“He is playing these little games just to look for every little advantage that he can get. But I’m not going to let it get to me. I’m just going to keep calm and collected.

“Maybe he’s making me wait and distracting me, making sure I am not focused on what my job is, so that I’m not in the gym and he’ll catch me off guard.

“But that’s not going to happen. I’m always in the gym and I always keep myself fit. I don’t think that will affect me in any way.”

Mayweather says he will fight either Andre Berto or Karim Mayfield on September 12.

But the Bolton welterweight reckons he has only suggested the pair, who like Khan train in the Bay Area of San Francisco, to wind him up.

He added: “He’s going to mention those guys to try and get under my skin. But I know all the games that Floyd Mayweather plays.

“Floyd’s playing games but this is a fight, we are professional boxers. Why not just be a man, say who you’re going to fight and get it done. Stop playing these little games.”

Khan is currently observing Ramadan and has been on a 15-city tour of Britain to raise money for the Amir Khan Foundation during the past month.

But, speaking at the Manchester stop on the tour, the 28-year-old insists it has not affected his preparation.

He added: “I’ve still been training during Ramadan. I go to the mosque after I open my fast.

“I have about five hours between fast open and fast close so I hit the gym at midnight. I’ll be ready if I get the call for September.”

Poor Khan unable to sleep at night. That's what he gets for taking on someone below Welterweight. I hope he doesn't get the fight.
Mayweather already acted like this type of b*tch before towards Khan three times, kept Khan waiting on several occassions but then decided to duck and fight someone Khan already beat. This affected Khan's career, available opponents etc.. Khan has every…
Actually kind of sounds like he already reached an agreement with Khan and now Khan is taking it personal that the fight hasn't been announced yet.
I am pretty sure something like that happened pre Maidana 1.
