Kevin Mitchell To John Murray: "Perfect, Let's Get It On!"

Kevin Mitchell says a fight with European lightweight champion John Murray is the "perfect" scenario.

Mitchell hasn't fought since he lost a WBO lightweight title clash with Michael Katsidis last May.

But he is to return with a tough showdown with Murray on April 2 at Wembley Arena.

And Mitchell insists that going straight back at championship level suits him more than fighting a six or eight rounder.

Talking to BBC London's Steve Bunce, he said he had "got the hunger back" since his loss to Katsidis, and would "come back bigger and stronger".

"I'm in a good place at the moment," he added. "Murray is a perfect fight. Domestically it is one of the biggest fights out there. It will be a big showdown.

"All my fans from West Ham will be there, and I'm sure Murray will bring a few as well.

"It will be perfect. Murray is looking for a big name. Let's get it on."

Murray is not in the same class as Mitchell. I expect Mitchell to look great and stop him.
