Kell Brook Wants Terence Crawford or Amir Khan Next

Eddie Hearn, promoter for former IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook, says his fighter is looking for a high profile showdown in the coming future.

Brook was scheduled to fight on the Anthony Joshua vs. Andy Ruiz undercard. That event takes place on June 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

But that contest was called off, after Brook opted to remain on the shelf until a mega-fight came along.

Brook had hoped to face domestic rival Amir Khan, who instead made a decision to face WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford.

Brook was ringside last month, when Crawford stopped Khan in six rounds.

Now Brook wants to get Crawford or Khan in the ring.

Hearn is planning to have a conversation with Top Rank, who promote Crawford, regarding the possibility of facing Brook.

Khan, after taking his loss, stated to reporters that he was open to the idea of facing Brook in 2019. Khan plans to fight again in the fall, possibly in October or November.

Brook has been out of the ring since December, when he had a tougher than expected decision win over Michael Zerafa.

"He's not fighting June 1st," Hearn confirmed to Sky Sports. "He just wants to jump into a mega fight now.

"He wants the Terence Crawford fight; we'll see if the Amir Khan fight can ever materialise. It's still a big fight, it's still a fight people want to see. Khan didn't really take a lot of damage in the Crawford fight, apart from one in the nuts, so we'll have to see.

"But Kell wants Crawford, he wants Khan, he wants any major fight and I don't think he can get himself motivated for anything else. There hasn't been any conversation since the [Crawford] fight. We're due one this week, so we'll see."

Brook hasn't a hope in hell against Crawford but I guess that it would pull in the hopeful British crowd. It's pretty obvious that he's looking for a Khan type pay day and is prepared to get whipped to get…
