Former IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook is going to consider the possibility of retiring from the sport at age 34.

This past Saturday night at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, Brook was wiped out in four rounds by WBO welterweight champion Terence "Bud" Crawford.

Brook (39-3, 27 KOs) was leading on two of the three judges' scorecards entering the fourth round, when he was clipped by a accurate counter from Crawford (37-0, 28 KOs).

The punch did not appear to be devastating, but Brook went stumbling backwards into the ropes - where he ate a few more punches before the referee called a knockdown as the ropes were holding the Sheffield fighter up.

A moment later Crawford unloaded with a barrage of punches as the referee Tony Weeks jumped in to save a defenseless Brook.

Coming in, Brook had two defeats - to Errol Spence and Gennady Golovkin - and both of them were competitive stoppage losses due to fractured orbital bones.

Brook, who at one time was going to target a world title at 154-pounds, returned to 147 for the first time since 2017.

At this stage of the game, to rebuild his career for another run, Brook may decide to hang up the gloves.

"I don't know [if I'll fight again], I'll just speak to my family, it might be the end of the road," Brook told Fighthype.com.

In the immediate aftermath oft he loss, Brook was shocked at the outcome.

"Never in my career, nobody has ever done that to me in sparring or anything," Brook said.

“It was one of them… I got caught with a shot I didn’t see. I’m gutted because nobody could’ve gotten me in better condition. I was bang on the limit. Maybe I could’ve been a bit more relaxed and loose and let the shots go.”
