Kazuto Ioka Vacates WBA Title, Moves Up To 112

Japanese fighter Kazuto Ioka officially announced his resignation of the 108-pound title of the World Boxing Association, with a communication sent to the Championships Committee. Ioka won the title on December 31, 2012, when he defeated the Mexican Jose Alfredo Rodriguez by TKO 6 in Osaka. He made three defenses of his belt in 2013. With record 14-0 9 KO’s, Ioka requested a WBA rating in the 112-pound division.

Big rumour that he'll be fighting Reveco in May for the WBA regular strap. I'd assume Tokyo will play host.

I'd like to see him get a shot at the WBA/WBO unified flyweight title holder J.F. Estrada. If Ioka could win 5 world titles in 3 divisions in only 15 fights that would be a great accomplishment for Ioka. Then…
