Kazuto Ioka-Juan Carlos Reveco II on December 31

By Hisao Adachi

At the Ioka Boxing Gym in Osaka City, it was officially announced that WBA (World Boxing Association) flyweight world champion Kazuto Ioka (18-1, 10KOs, 26-years-old, will make the second defense of his title on December 31 at the Edion Arena in Osaka City in a rematch with former champion Juan Carlos Reveco (36-2, 19KOs), 32-years-old.

Reveco lost the title to Ioka via majority decision last April in Osaka.

There were some questions over the first decision. This time Ioka wants to close the show in style.

"In my first fight with Juan Carlos Reveco, I worked my way to win the world title and win by judges' decision. But in the rematch, I will be different. Because, I'll take the chance to seek a more resounding victory by way of a knockout to convince everyone that I am a worthy world champion with solid a victory over Juan Carlos Reveco," Ioka said.

First fight was solid but Ioka won cleary actually kind of surprised this was mandated it wasn't nearly as controversial as Reveco/Alvarado. Should be another good match-up w/Ioka winning another clear dec.

Would be fairer if it wasn't once again in Ioka's home town, but I guess that's where the money is and Ioka doesn't leave home
