Katsidis Waiting on The Matthysse vs Morales Winner

By Ryan Songalia

Fresh off a third-round TKO over Michael Lozada Saturday night in Australia, Michael Katsidis (28-4, 23 KO) is ready to campaign full-time at 140 pounds.

The Australian resident of Greek descent will likely target the winner of the Lucas Matthysse vs Erik Morales WBC super lightweight title fight on September 17 in Las Vegas, said Katsidis' international adviser Sampson Lewkowicz.

"We have that in mind but September 17 has to happen first," said Lewkowicz. "Katsidis always has an open door with the networks because he's a very exciting fighter. He's very similar to Arturo Gatti in that win or lose, people will pay to see him."

How can people badmouth katsidis so much ? True he came short at elite lever but he put on a hell of a show on all those loses, Cmon Casamayor was a highly respected fighter and katsidis gave him hell…

A rematch with Kevin Mitchell would be perfect for him at this point.
