It's looking more and more likely that undefeated WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (30-0, 27KOs) will defend his title against former champion Ricardo Cordoba (37-3, 23KOs) on April 16 at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico. American network Showtime is reportedly more favorable to Lopez facing Cordoba. They were not receptive to the previously mentioned opponent, Teon Kennedy (16-0, 7KOs).
Lopez continues to be disconnected from the media in Puerto Rico since November of last year. He went on a tour with promoter Peter Rivera to United States and then to the Philippines, where he attended the 32nd birthday of Manny Pacquiao, and since returning to Puerto Rico the unbeaten champion has stayed away from the local media despite enjoying a high esteem among sports journalists.
