Juanma Likes Rafael Marquez or Arce as Comeback Foe

By Miguel Rivera

As previously reported, former champion Juan Manuel Lopez (33-3, 30KOs) would like to return before the end of the year. Last month he was knocked out in four rounds by Mikey Garcia. It was the third knockout loss for Juanma in five fights. The 30-year-old fighter wants to have one final run to a world title, at super featherweight. Two opponents he would like to face, because of their styles, are former champions Rafael Marquez and Jorge Arce. Back in April, Arce discussed making a return to boxing and wanted Juanma as a comeback opponent.

Juanma had previously stopped Marquez in the eight round in 2010, at super bantamweight.

"There are fighters with the same characteristics as me. I am aware that the years have weighed on me and I'm not the same guy that I was when I was 21. But perhaps a fight with some like Jorge Arce or Rafael Marquez, they are fights that can please the public," Juanma told Carlos Narvaez.

Arce quit against Rojas so I think he is a safer choice then Rafael.
