Joshua's Promoter Plans To Make a "New" Offer To Wilder

EDDIE HEARN will today prepare a fresh big-money offer for Deontay Wilder in his latest attempt to secure a mega fight with Anthony Joshua.

But the promoter is ready to turn to Brooklyn’s ‘Big Baby’ Jarrell Miller should Wilder decide against facing Joshua in a unification fight next.

Hearn has already offered the WBC champion a flat fee of £8.8m [$12.5m] for the fight but the offer was rejected by Wilder and his team.

They then returned with a counter offer of £35m [$50m] for Joshua but were not willing to discuss the details of the proposal - leaving the heavyweight duel dead in the water.

Now Hearn is ready to up the stakes with a fresh deal which he believes will be enough to tempt Wilder into a Wembley showdown this September.

He said: “I will send them a new offer.

“It could be an increase in the basic fee, it could be a bigger split, it could be a bit of both.

“I feel like we have to go back now and keep trying because we want to make this fight next.

“I can’t just agree to their $50m offer because it doesn’t work like that.

“We want to talk about the fight, we are interested, but they won’t meet me.”

Hearn was in New York promoting the second Matchroom Boxing USA show, which featured a win for Miller.

And ‘Big Baby’ could be about to hit the jackpot in the Joshua stakes with a potential clash back at the Barclays Center possible for August.

Hearn added: “If we can’t get Wilder then we would definitely want Miller next.

“If Anthony is going to box in America and it’s not against Wilder, we want to come to the Barclays Center and we would love that to be against Miller.

“The WBA have called Alexander Povetkin as the mandatory but they will probably allow an exception so we could fight Miller as a voluntary.

“Obviously making the Wilder fight is our priority, but Joshua-Miller here would be a big one.”

This offer couldn’t be too different from the original or Hearn would be shouting it from the rooftops.

Then the fight won't happen because Team Wilder would be damn fools to take less than a $100 Million purse split; Which means both fighters would get $50 mil each. After all, it was AJ who asked for $50 Million…
