Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) believes WBC champion Deontay Wilder (39-0, 38 KOs) has lost his mind with requested an even 50-50 split for a potential unification.

In a recent interview, Wilder made it known that he wanted a 50-50 split or a showdown with Joshua would not go down.

At the moment there are ongoing discussions for a unification between Joshua and WBO champion Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs).

Parker and Joshua are haggling over a 65-35 split, but they are starting to break some ground.

Hearn admits that his team is very close to a deal to finalize the fight with Parker for the first quarter of 2018.

While Hearn believes Parker's price is a bit too high - he thinks Wilder's stance on a 50-50 split is way out of the ballpark.

"Parker's demands are unrealistic, but we're going to try and make it happen," said Hearn to Sky Sports.

"But Deontay Wilder is on cloud nine. I mean he's never fought anybody. You've got to understand, Anthony Joshua is making 10 times per fight what Wilder is making, and he wants to make the same money that Anthony Joshua is making in that fight. I understand. Wilder is on relatively low money, he's not a draw in the US right now. They all want the Joshua fight. It's everybody's cash-out fight.

"Our plan is to go and pick up another belt, have three belts going into that fight against Wilder's one, clean him out, and then have it all, be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world."

Wilder may be heading into a showdown with undefeated Cuban puncher Luis Ortiz.

Last Friday in Miami, Wilder and Ortiz had a face to face confrontation where they traded words before a televised audience. They were scheduled to fight last month, but Ortiz was pulled from the contest for failing a pre-fight drug test. He was later cleared by the WBC.
