On March 7th lightweight contender Jose Felix Jr. (28-1-1) will return to the ring against Raymond Sermona (17-4-5) in Macau, China on the Zou Shiming- undercard. Felix's fight will be broadcast on same day tape delay on Unimas.
The Sinaloa, Mexico native said that he suffered a cut early in camp but is 100% ready to go.
"We had a great training camp. We has a small cut early in camp but it has healed and we are ready to conquer Macau so that more people get to know who I am," said Felix.
Felix's opponent isn't well known but he said that he isn't taking him lightly. Felix expects Sermona to be aggressive and said that he plans on eventually wearing him down and knocking him out.
"My opponent isn't well known but he is a Filipino that likes to go to war and throw a lot of punches. I am well prepared for him and we are hoping to win by knockout out," Felix stated while also revealing that he feels extra motivation fighting in China for the first time in his career.
"I am especially motivated to fight in Macau because I have never been there before and it will be an unforgettable experience."
The 22-year-old Felix insists he isn't overlooking his opponent but said that he hopes for a title shot after this fight. He sad that his first choice would be to face former lightweight champion Juan Diaz who likely will fight for the vacant WBO lightweight title in his next ring appearance.
"After this fight I want to fight any of the lightweight champions but I believe the best fight would be versus Baby Bull Diaz. He's a great boxer and I think it would be an explosive fight. I hope to get that fight soon," Felix told BoxingScene.com.
