Jose Benavidez, Oscar Valdez Double on December 12

By Ryan Burton

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has advised BoxingScene.com that their December 12th UniMas doubleheader will feature WBA interim-super lightweight champion Jose Benavidez (23-0, 16KOs) and two-time Mexican Olympian Oscar Valdez in separate bouts.

Benavidez captured his title last December with a controversial decision over Mauricio Herrera. He returned on May 15th, where he retained his title for the first time with a twelfth round TKO of Jorge Paez Jr. in a Phoenix homecoming bout.

Valdez (17-0, 15KOs) is 3-0 in 2015 with his last fight being the most impressive win of his blooming career, as he secure a fifth round knockout of world title challenger Chris Avalos.

Both fighters are considered cornerstones of Top Rank's future.
