Jorge Linares, Terry Flanagan Trade Words - Call For Unification

WBO World Lightweight Champion Terry Flanagan says he's ready to unify against the other belt-holders, and has targeted Jorge Linares.

This weekend, the Venezuelan defended his WBA belt against Britain's Luke Campbell, earning a split decision win in Los Angeles.

On Saturday morning before the fight, Flanagan tweeted Linares about a unification: "If you beat Campbell tonight don't go running, I'm here #unification #realfight".

After his victory, Linares (43-3, 27 KOs) replied: "Stop talking too much, lets fight and then we will see who is the best".

"I'm ready when you are," said the Manchester boxer, "Frank Warren make this fight so I can prove I'm the best lightweight on the planet."

At 33-0, Flanagan holds the longest current unbeaten record in British boxing. Since winning his title in July 2015, the southpaw has made five defences. Most recently he outpointed Petr Petrov in his hometown on April 8th.

Linares is no stranger to British opposition. Prior to facing Campbell, the 32-year-old defeated Anthony Crolla twice and Kevin Mitchell in the U.K.

A match-up between Flanagan and Linares would be an exciting proposition in a packed division that also features Mikey Garcia and Robert Easter Jr.
