Undefeated super flyweight prospect Jonathan 'Bomba' Gonzalez (5-0, 5KOs), who wants to win a world title in 2012, is scheduled to see action on October 22 at Madison Square Garden in New York, where Filipino Nonito Donaire will defend his WBO/WBC bantamweights titles against Omar Narvaez of Argentina in the HBO televised main event.
"I want to be world champion. If I have to fight for a regional title I will, but I would go straight for the championship. There is Chocolatito Gonzalez (WBA) or Giovanni Segura and Brian Viloria. I've seen them fight and I know I have to beat them. I'm an experienced amateur. I won 106 and lost 10. We are at 112 pounds and I'll remain there. But we'll go to 115, 118 and if there is a little boy at 122, the champion Jorge Arce, I'm sure we can move up," Gonzalez said.
