Jonathan Gonzalez Eyes Segura: I Can KO Him in Six!

By Rey Colon

Undefeated 115-pound prospect, Jonathan "Bomba" Gonzalez (10-0, 9 KO's) has issued a challenge to the former 108-pound champion of the WBO, Mexico's Giovanni Segura (28-2-1, 24 KO's ), who was last seen in the ring in December 2011, when he was stopped in eight rounds by WBO flyweight champion Brian Viloria.

"I want to fight [him in] January because I think I'm ready to fight at the level of a champion. And I think I can knock him out in less than six rounds. He beat [Ivan] Calderon dramatically because Ivan was outside of his weight [division] and age affected him. I'm young and I have prepared for bigger challenges," he said.

He's willing to do the fight in Las Vegas, New York or Puerto Rico.

"My confidence is the work I do in my workouts and I know I have ability and intelligence to knock him out. I have a good shot. The fight could be held in one of those places. I know that I can win and I can stand with him to trade punches," Gonzalez said.

lo puelto licos nomas pelean en puelto lico. If he wants the fight badly enough he should grow a pair and fight him in mexico.

Sound good to me Bomba vs Giovany..... don't worry about his record ?He's not talking ... He is demanding a fight against Giovany...con lo atolero que son los Mexicanos puede ser que le tome la palabra solo por el record…

[QUOTE=jtcs1981;12461769]Bomba havent win a significant fight, have no names in his weak resume and he is calling out a proven champ. On top he mentions PR as a destination. GTFOH. [/QUOTE] Exactly. He sounds ridiculous calling out Segura then saying…

Meh too soon. It's normal to call out big names to get you're name in the mix just how every other boxer has done in their career.
