Jhonny Gonzalez Eyes December Return To Stay Busy

WBC featherweight champion Jhonny González (55-8, 47KOs) wants to stay very busy now that he’s champion. Jhonny will meet this Saturday with his promoter to define what’s next on his career agenda and schedule his first defense. A rematch with Abner Mares (26-1-1, 14KOs) is a strong option for early 2014, but there is nothing arranged yet.

“If I fight in December I might not have a big purse but I will have some activity, which is what I want” Gonzalez explained. “All boxers deserve a chance. Mares gave me a chance and I’m willing to give him back the opportunity."
Ponce De leon would fit just alright.
They said stay busy. That usually means TBA. Ponce who already beat him is not a "stay busy" fight. Posted from Boxingscene.com App for Android
