Jesse Hart Reacts To Donovan George's Taunts

By Victor Salazar

Jessie Hart was on hand at the recent TruTV card in Newark. After his stoppage victory over Mike Jimenez on the undercard of Mayweather-Pacquiao, the next step for the Philadelphia fighter is to headline his own card on TruTV.

“I’m on top of the world here at the TruTV show,” Hard told BoxingScene.com “I’m going to make my 1st appearance on TruTV in September in my hometown of Philadelphia, I’ve been told. Everything is working good, coming out of the biggest fight card week, Mayweather-Pacquiao, and now I’m headlining my own date.”

Both Hart and Jimenez were undefeated going into the fight. Hart feels he made a statement regardless of what other people may have felt of the fight.

“He was 17-0, they can say what they want to say,” stated Hart. “I was coming in 16-0 and certain odds makers had me as the underdog and that changes a lot.  A guy like myself, I thrive like myself on thing like that.”

Donovan George, who is a personal friend of Mike Jimenez congratulated Hart on his victory by sending him a fruit basket with a message behind it, that George was going to kick Hart’s *ss. Hart finds the gesture comical but says if George wants the fight, that he’s all ears.

“It was a generous gesture but he sent the wrong message,” Hart stated. “How you going to send me a fruit basket and congratulate me and then say you going to kick my ass? These guys have no class but that’s what happens when you’re the champion but if Donovan George wants it, he can get it. Donovan George, you earn your shot you can come get it.”

Hart talks highly of the TruTV serious and says that Top Rank (his promoter) has a stable of up and coming stars that will benefit from the exposure of the network.

“This is just the beginning, a network like this will make us bigger stars.”
