The heavyweight division has been dominated for several years by the Klitschko brothers while interest in the division has continued to wane in the United States.

The last few groups of American contenders fell short against the elite of the division. Fans in the United States continue to hold out hope for the next great American heavyweight and most fans have pinned their hopes on Bryant Jennings (17-0, 9KOs) and Deontay Wilder (30-0, 30KOs).

The two fighters couldn't be more different in terms of size and style but Jennings understands the comparisons.

"I mean that's all we got," Jennings said in a recent conversation with BoxingScene.com. "I can't speak anything negative on it.  That's all we have. We have a lot of other people but they have been in the game for a while and your name starts dying down when you have been in there for so long and they really haven't done enough to stay afloat.

"You have me and Deontay Wilder and you probably have a couple others, I'm sure some of these other guys fall under being American even though they are of some other descent. You only got me and Deontay so I guess that is all they are young to see for right now."

Jennings currently is in the middle of his training camp for his January 25th fight against undefeated Pole Artur Szpilka (16-0, 12KOs). The fight will be both fighters first appearance on HBO. Jennings promises to leave a good impression.

"The fans are definitely going to see a fight. I am ready to fight. I just finished a good workout right now. I just finished going an hour and fifteen minutes straight. I am going to go in there and show my skills. I am ready for whatever," Jennings stated.
