Javier Fortuna-Abner Cotto in Play For Nov. 1 on SHO

By Rick Reeno has been advised that a deal is close for a super featherweight clash between Abner Cotto (18-2, 8KOs) and Javier Fortuna (25-0-1, 18KOs). The fight is being targeted for November 1 at the UIC Paillion in Chicago, which is going to be a Showtime televised quadrupleheader. Fortuna is coming off a tough decision win over Juan Antonio Rodriguez in May, and last month Cotto won ten round split decision over Jerry Belmontes.

The Chicago card is going to feature WBO bantamweight champion Tomoki Kameda, who will defend his title against mandatory Alejandro Hernandez. Also light heavyweight Andrzej Fonfara, Roberto Garcia and middleweight Caleb Truax will be in action.
