Mark Heffron already has his next fight booked.
The WBC International middleweight champion is mandatory for Jason Welborn’s British belt.
Heffron warmed up nicely with a decent showing at the Morningside Arena in Leicester last Saturday when he maintained his undefeated ledger, advancing to 21-0 with 17 early finishes, on the non-televised portion of the BT Sport-aired card topped by Jack Catterall's WBO Inter-Continental super-lightweight title defence against Ohara Davies.
He stopped Ghana’s Aryee Ayittey after two minutes and 53 seconds of the fourth round, dropping him twice before the referee called a halt to proceedings.
But he will face Welborn –– who retained his belt with a rematch win over Tommy Langford last month –– before Christmas, as part of the supporting cast to Josh Warrington's IBF featherweight title defence against Carl Frampton.
Warrington faces Belfast's former two-weight king Frampton on December 22 at Manchester Arena, exclusively live on BT Sport Box Office.
Boxing Scene understands the show's promoter Frank Warren will also look to showcase Nicola Adams, Daniel Dubois and Nathan Gorman on the card.
Further details will be revealed in due course.
