Jarrell Miller Feels He's Moving Ahead of Whyte in Joshua Race

Heavyweight contender Jarrell Miller believes he is slowly moving ahead of Dillian Whyte in the current race to fight IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO world champion Anthony Joshua in the coming months.

If Joshua fights Whyte, then he will return on April 13th at Wembley Stadium in London.

And if he face Miller, then the contest will happen in June at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The bout would see Joshua make his American debut.

Joshua secured a seventh round TKO win over Whyte in December of 2015.

Since that bout, a rematch has been discussed - with Joshua piling up four world titles, and Whyte bagging several wins over top contenders such as Lucas Browne and Joseph Parker.

But there are issues in the negotiations to make a rematch deal, as Whyte is not happy with the amount of money being offered for the fight.

Miller appears to be more receptive to the offers being presented to him, and now feels that the ongoing issues with Whyte is working to his own favor to get a title crack with Joshua.

“Recently yes, there’s been talks about it (a Joshua fight),” Miller told Ringside Reporter. “There was one offer that was made earlier today as a matter of fact.

“It’s just based on if Dillian Whyte doesn’t really want the fight. They said if they can make a deal with me then they’re going to bypass Dillian Whyte and fight me in June. Dillian Whyte might miss an opportunity because he wants to be stubborn on certain numbers.

"It’s not a bad offer. My ultimate goal is to get a title shot. I’m thinking about legacy first and then the money will come.”

There is also a purse bid coming up next month, for a WBA interim-heavyweight title clash between Miller and champion Trevor Bryan.

[QUOTE=AussieStu;19474897]With Parker I would suggest that was a 2:1 ratio, 2 belts v 1 belt. So at 35%, you could argue Parker got 2% more than due. Now with Wilder, it’s a 3:1 ratio, so theoretically 75% to 25%. So…

Miller appears to be much tighter opponent for AJ than Whyte.
