Mexico's Dante Jardón (24-3, 20KOs) is determined to be crowned world champion before year’s end.
Jardon faces formidable WBC super featherweight champion Takashi Miura (26-2-2, 19KOs) on December 31st in Japan.
Jardón is currently training at the Nuevo Jordan Gym in Mexico City with the supervision of Manuel Lopez.
“I’ve been working hard, I want to become world champion and I don’t care about the flights or the holidays. I’m a fight away from conquering my dream. I earned that chance with hard work and I won’t waste it!”
Regarding his rival Jardon said that he respects him because he's a great fighter:
“Miura is very good. He's defeated two Mexicans. He has a powerful left...but Miura is not undefeatable. I hope this will be a really great fight.”
Jardon also stressed he’s delighted, because his countryman Carlos Cuadras will also fight in the same card.
“I hope on that day we can give Mexico a nice present to celebrate the new year."
