Tijuana, Mexico - The "Aztec Princess" Jackie Nava (29-4-1, 13 KOs) reclaimed WBA super bantamweight gold with a landslide victory, as she scored a knockout win at 46 seconds of the seventh round over Venezuelan Alys Sanchez (12-2-1, 4 KOs). Nava suffered a knockdown in the first, but came back in the third to score one of her own and nearly finished Sanchez off. Sanchez took more punishment and went down twice in the sixth, although one knockdown was waved off by the referee as a slip. In the seventh, Nava battered her with shots to open a bad cut on her left eyelid, and continued to unload until Sanchez took a knee and the referee had seen enough.
