Badou Jack hopes to celebrate the arrival of a baby daughter by successfully defending his WBC world super-middleweight title against veteran Lucian Bute on April 30.

The 32-year-old Swede (20-1-1, 12KOs) makes the second defence of his title against Bute and, if successful, his next fight is set to be against against rising Liverpool star Callum Smith.

After the arrival of his first child, Malaniyah, Jack - who outpointed London's George Groves last time out - has vowed that his belt is going nowhere.

"I'm looking forward to another victory," he said. "This is going to be a tough fight, but I'm ready. I've been training really hard and I'm ready to get into the ring.

"I'm more focused and determined now than ever to secure what is mine. The fans will have an exciting show to look forward to on April 30, I can guarantee that.

"My daughter being born is extra motivation for me and to continue working hard to provide for my family. I still feel fresh. Training camp is good. Everything is right on schedule. I'm feeling really focused."

"The most important thing for me is to have fun when I train. My confidence level is back at 100 percent. There's a great atmosphere here at the gym and I have great chemistry with my trainers.

"I've done quality sparring and starting next week we'll be reducing the training volume so as to focus more on the level of intensity."

Romanian-born Bute (32-3, 25KOs), who now resides in Quebec, is no stranger to British fight fans having lost to Carl Froch in Nottingham back in 2012 and then last time out to IBF world champion James DeGale.

It will be the 36-year-old's 13th world championship contest and he is confident it will not be unlucky for him.
