J. Mayweather: Pakistani on Cinco De Mayo is Tough Sell

By Edward Chaykovsky

Trainer Jeff Mayweather, the uncle of pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr., says a potential fight with Amir Khan will be a tough sellĀ for Cinco De Mayo weekend, May 3rd, unless the card is stacked with Latino fighters or high quality fights. Khan, a British star with Pakistani roots, is the frontrunnerĀ to face Mayweather in a Showtime Pay-Per-View headliner from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"Amir Khan is a good choice because he has a little following, so that helps the pay-per-view sales, but it's kind of tough to do that [fight] with a Pakistani on Cinco De Mayo. In order to do that [fight], you are going to have to put Latino fighters on there as well, or you are going to have to stack the card," Jeff Mayweather told proboxinginsider.com.
