Former champion Humberto Soto (61-8-2, 35KOs) has promised that Mahonri Montes (28-2-1, 21KOs) will not last more than five rounds on Saturday night at Polideportivo Centenario in Los Mochis, Mexico. Soto will be defending his World Boxing Council (WBC) junior welterweight silver international championship in the fight.
"I am in great shape, I'm ready for a twelve round fight and I'm eager to fight up to 20, but I do not Montes will go more than five. I'm going to impose my terms from the start and I'm sure he won't know how to deal with it and eventually he will fall apart," Soto said.
"I have always asked for the best opponents. He is a boy with a lot of promise, but for his misfortune he is going to meet with me and receive a lesson that will serve him well in the future as I'm sure he will go far."
