According to top boxing manager Vladimir Hryunov, one of his fighters will get the opportunity to face WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (34-2, 25KOs) in a fall rematch. Hryunov manages WBA interim-cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev (23-1, 17KOs) and WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (24-0, 16KOs).
Lebedev lost a close split decision to Huck in 2010, but Povetkin won a majority decision over Huck in February. Both of those results have caused controversy among fans and experts, who continue to dispute the scorecards of the judges.
Huck makes a mandatory defense against Ola Afolabi in May, while Lebedev returns on April 4th against Shawn Cox. and Povetkin meets mandatory Hasim Rahman in July.
"A rematch with Marco Huck is mandatory. I think the fight will take place in October. The only thing that has not been determined is exactly who will fight with the German - Lebedev or Alexander Povetkin. My men are ready to get in the ring against the best athletes and against the best champions," said the manager.
