IBF/WBA light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins is not finished with taking some shots at John David Jackson, the trainer of WBO 175-pound beltholder Sergey Kovalev.
Jackson challenged Hopkins for the IBF middleweight title in 1997 and saw himself get stopped in the seventh round of action.
Hopkins laughs off any discussion of Jackson teaching his boxer a proper strategy to secure a solid victory on Saturday night at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. If Kovalev shows no respect, and no mercy, Jackson believes his fighter will get another knockout victory.
The very anticipated unification will headline an HBO televised doubleheader.
"John David Jackson says he knows everything there is to know about me. Sergey is the student. I'm not fighting John. But how can a teacher teach with credibility when the teacher has all F's? How can a teacher teach a student to have all A's when he has an F? I guarantee John did not show our fight to Sergey," Hopkins said.
