Hernandez-Afolabi Showdown Picked Up By Channel 5

Team Sauerland and Hennessy Sport are pleased to announce that the IBF World Cruiserweight Championship showdown between Yoan Pablo Hernandez (29-1, 14 KOs) and Ola Afolabi (21-3-4, 10 KOs) will be broadcast LIVE on Channel 5 (8.30-10.30pm).

British boxing fans will now have the chance to follow London-born Afolabi as he attempts to dethrone the Cuban cruiserweight king on Saturday, December 6 at the EWE Arena in Oldenburg, Germany.

“We’re delighted to be working in collaboration with Mick Hennessy to bring UK fans this exciting cruiserweight clash,” said promoter Nisse Sauerland. ‘‘Channel 5 is a fantastic platform for boxing and fitting home for this world championship fight. Hernandez and Afolabi are two of the division's top talents and will guarantee an explosive encounter on December 6.”

“This is a great opportunity for British boxing fans to again watch a genuine world title fight involving a British fighter on free-to-air television,” said promoter Mick Hennessy. “In the space of six weeks Channel 5 have delivered the IBF world bantamweight title fight between Stuart Hall and Randy Caballero and now the IBF world cruiserweight title fight between Yoan Pablo Hernandez and Ola Afolabi.

channel 5 could be better if they got rid of the corporate nerd who presents it, get rid of bernstein and put some british boxers presenting/commenting with a sense of humour and who are opinionated.
He appears a very lazy, languid fighter, which is a shame. He has some serious power Great news that channel 5 are pushing the boat out again. Love me some terrestrial boxing.
His power definitely improved as did his technique…
Best news I've heard all day. Hopefully Ola brings the heat this is a winnable fight for him but he'll no doubt fall just short as usual. Bit of a sparring partner mentality. Don't let it slip away this time
…
