Hearn: Vargas-Dulorme Card is Huge, Give Fans What They Want

Promoter Eddie Hearn believes his first Matchroom USA event on the new DAZN streaming service will be a blockbuster card.

The entire lineup for that show, taking place on October 6th at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, was officially announced earlier this week.

Former world champion Jessie Vargas will headline the card against Thomas Dulorme.

Supporting the Vargas-Dulorme showdown, is a heavyweight showdown between undefeated contender Jarrell Miller and former two division champion Tomas Adamek.

There will also be two world titles fight, with Danny Roman defending the WBA world title against Gavin McDonnell, and IBF light heavyweight king Artur Beterbiev making his first defense against Callum Johnson of the UK.

Hearn is very proud of his first event lineup for DAZN - which part of an eight year agreement. 

The British promoter is planning to stage as many as 16 events a year for the streaming service, and he believes this first card will set the stage for the long term venture with DAZN's parent company, Perform Group. 

“It’s always great flying eight hours and you turn up and you see this state of the art, brand new arena, with some wonderful people working on this project that I know are going to make a huge effort for this event – Worlds Collide, October 6 live and exclusively on DAZN across America, Sky Sports in the UK," Hearn said.

"This is a huge event and the first of our 16 fights across the year on DAZN. We are delighted to be in Chicago, a great fight city that we hope to really invigorate on October 6 in front of a huge crowd. It’s a new era of broadcasting and a great chance to build our shows from top to bottom. No linear construction, no blocks getting in the way.

"Live throughout the night, stacked nights continuously, giving fight fans exactly what they want.”

Beterbiev and Danny Roman are in solid matchups, those are better undercard fights than most cards. But that main event feels like an undercard fight itself.
