The sport of boxing continues to produce some shocking decisions. Ali Funeka, in my opinion, won a dominating twelve round decision over Joan Guzman at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City. The majority of the viewing audience, the live audience, and the guys at HBO were left with their mouths open when the judges came back with a majority draw. The scores were 114-114, 114-114 and 116-112 for Funeka.

BoxingScene.com received a call from a very furious Lou DiBella. He wants to see some justice. DiBella, with no stake in either fighter, is calling for a full investigation.  DiBella has been around for a while, and saw the Guzman-Funeka result as one of the five worst decisions that he ever witnessed. I watched the fight via telephone with veteran promoter Michael Acri. Both of us were under the impression that referee Jean-Guy Brousseau, or the ringside physician, was going to step in and stop the fight because Guzman was bleeding heavy and taking a lot of punishment in the late rounds.

"That was one of the five worst decisions that I've ever seen. The was an inexplicable decision. There should be a full investigation and background checks on those two judges. The was clearly a one-sided ass-whipping. If this is best judging that boxing has to offer, then were are in real trouble. HBO should not buy the rematch. I don't want to see that fight again. Guzman got his ass kicked. Bring back Funeka like he's the winner," DiBella told BoxingScene.com.
