Green: Mundine's Race Card Remarks on Jeff Horn Are Reckless

Danny Green is shaking his head at his bitter rival Anthony Mundine - after the former world champion made what many felt were "race card" comments about WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn.

Last week, Mundine made some very controversial comments when he complained that Horn was getting so much media attention in Australia because of his "white" skin color.

Mundine, a former multi-division champion, feels that he never received the same type of treatment in Australia, because he wasn't white.

Mundine barely backed away from the statements after the Australian press took him to task.

“He’s only the flavour of the month because he is a white boy, just like Danny Green was the white boy,” Mundine told The Daily Telegraph.

“In the western society, whites get privileges — and because Horn is white he gets all that attention and media coverage,” he said. I had to talk sh*t and then back it up for years, since I was playing footy.

“That was the only way for me to get noticed. They’ve never given me my just dues because I’m a man of color.”

Green felt the comments were "irresponsible, immature and reckless."

“Once again he’s going to try to play the victim when he was leaving himself open for people in the community, the public, to brand him a racist,” Green said to The Australian. “Put the shoe on the other foot.

“If I was to say that Mundine’s only got publicity because he’s an Aboriginal man, I would be branded a racist and a bigot and I’d be run out of the country. Why is he allowed to say these things?

"My father raised me to know who the original land owners are and what’s transpired in the whitefella and blackfella community since then. I’m aware of the history of this country, so my eyes are wide open. Has [Mundine] ever offered a solution?”

This has been mundine's schtick since he first popped up in boxing... He's said the same thing to every fighter he faces. Australia has been infilitrated by the same far-left "revolutionary media" as the rest of the western world in…

I agree he plays the race card to get publicity and team Horn would be loving it too. My point is that when Mundine claims he is not treated fairly because of his colour, the public and press reply by…

[QUOTE=impartial;18431208]Australians don't understand racism, it's something that was accepted in this country for years, and now we know it's wrong but most are unclear as to what racism is exactly. If Mundine says anything about race, he's branded a racist.…
