Former two-division world champion, Danny “Swift” Garcia fights  Mexican-American Adrian Granados for the World Boxing Council silver welterweight title at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, on Saturday, April 20, as part of an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions that will be broadcast on FOX and FOX Deportes.

Garcia (34-2, 20 KOs) has fought with cream of the crop opponents at 140 and 147 pounds including Erik Morales, Zab Judah, Kendall Holt, Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse, Paulie Malignaggi and Lamont Peterson.

Granados (20-6-2, 14 KOs) has made a name for himself through his come forward skills and big heart, in action-packed fights against Shawn Porter and Adrien Broner.

Granados is very confident he has what it takes to defeat Garcia, but if he falls short, this could be his final opportunity in the spotlight.

Granados, originally from Chicago and whose parents are Mexican, commented: “I think this could be my last chance to be a prominent star in the boxing world. I am very motivated and doing a great preparation. We’re going out on the night of the fight to apply pressure on Danny and hurt him with some constant punching. I’m going to win the WBC Silver title.”

Tickets for the live event, promoted by TGB Promotions and Mayweather Promotions, in partnership with DSG Promotions, can be purchased at AXS.com or at the Dignity Health Sports Park box office.

IN OTHER NEWS: Luis ‘Pantera’ Nery and his team are aiming to close in on a title fight this June against the current bantamweight world champion, Frenchman Nordine Oubaali.

Nery and his promoter, Fernando Beltrán, recently commented that they plan to fight at the 122 pounds division, and then one division higher.

But the primary aim is to fulfill a personal challenge, by recovering the 118 pounds WBC belt, which Nery lost on the scale last year.

If the fight with Oubaali can`t be signed for June, then they expect it to be in September, but there is also the possibility of going up a division.
